More break-ins and drink drivers

A spate of vehicle break-ins over the weekend has local police concerned. On Friday night, six vehicles were targeted by thieves who caused considerable damage in gaining access to the cars before ransacking them. Police believe that in some cases the offenders attempted to steal the vehicles. The cars were left parked and locked overnight in Mills Place, Wayeela Street, Lowing Street, Mc Nabb Crescent and Ross Crescent. Anybody with information about the incidents is asked to contact Griffith Police.
Drink driving offences also continue to concern police with each weekend seemingly the same as the last. Another six people were charged with PCA offences over the last couple of days. In one incident, a 30-year-old Griffith man, who was already disqualified from driving for three years, was stopped by Highway Patrol Police in Bringagee Street Griffith on Saturday night. He failed a roadside breath test and later underwent a breath analysis which police say returned a reading of 0.160. He has been charged with Driving with High Range PCA and Disqualified Driving. A 43-year-old Griffith woman, who police allege was the registered owner of the vehicle and a passenger in the car, has been charged with Aiding and Abetting the two offences.
