Griffith City Library has walked away with an award in this year’s 2010 Marketing Awards for NSW Public Libraries.

Joint library manager Christine Del Gigante said receiving the award in the 10,001-30,000 population category was a great experience.

“Our entry of the 2009 Baby and Toddler Expo was in itself a remarkable promotion but to receive the award at the Conference was just amazing,” she said.

“I was just elated to receive the award on behalf of our fantastic library and dedicated staff in front of a packed audience at a ceremony.

“As well as the honour and the glory and the certificate we will receive a cheque for $1500 that we will no doubt put to good use in the future extension of our fantastic Baby Bounce and Rhyme Time promotion.”

Ms Del Gigante, who attended the conference in Albury with Jo Scott, accepted the award at the Public Libraries NSW Country Conference held last Wednesday. The conference was attended by all delegates along with guests including Hon Bob Carr, Tony Catanzariti MLC and Shadow Minister for Citizenship, Volunteering and the Arts Anthony Roberts.
