Griffith City Council is celebrating Local Government Week with a full schedule of events and entertainment.
This year’s theme is Building a Brighter Future, which highlights the many levels of Council working to better the future of the community and provides an opportunity to promote the facilities, projects and services offered by local government now and in the years to come.
The council works on a community and social level; acknowledging and appreciating the differences in our communities, the locations that set them apart and building bridges to connect them. Building a Brighter Future is also about Councils working together to represent their interests to State and Federal governments, which will be seen in the amalgamation of Local Government Association and Shires Association of NSW to form a unified body to represent Local Government in NSW.
Local Government Week is held from August 2-8.
